What I Hold Sacred

My path to becoming a doula began while trying to conceive. During that time, I began to understand just how deeply the threshold into motherhood can be misunderstood, undervalized, and overlooked. I became deeply curious by the profound transformation that happens when a person becomes a mother—not just physically, but emotionally & spiritually.

I found myself drawn to the sacred work of mothering the mother.

And, in many ways, becoming a doula became a rebirth experience for me as well.

Coming from an estranged relationship with my own parents, this work has been deeply healing and alchemical.

Supporting mothers through one of life's most transformative thresholds has invited me to continually explore my own story, soften old places, and transform what was once painful into something Beautiful.

Doula work changed my life. It gave me not just a purpose but it’s a calling, a language for the kind of presence I had always wanted from my own mother and can now without reservation offer it to my dreamy clients.

I now get to devote myself to something I deeply care about, Doula work is an exquisite form of devotion, and it’s a rare gem in the landscape of care.

The Journey Together

How I Support You

I believe birth begins long before labor. It begins in the preparation—the conversations, the questions, the fears, the hopes, and the gradual process of becoming.

My support is rooted in presence. In being a steady witness and a mirror when you need to remember your own strength. In meeting your eyes across the room and reminding you that you are not alone. In offering the kind of deep, grounded care that feels a little like grandmother energy: warm, intuitive, protective, wise, and unhurried.

During pregnancy, we prepare together through movement, breath, sound, conversation, education, and emotional support. We explore what helps you feel connected to your body, your voice, your intuition, and the person you are becoming.

During birth, I hold space for the full spectrum of the experience: The intensity. The uncertainty. The power. The tenderness. I hold the emotional capacity to stay present in the moments that feel big, raw, or overwhelming. I do not need you to be anything other than exactly who you are.

Because I believe you deserve to feel safe enough to soften, strong enough to surrender, and supported enough to meet every part of yourself that birth may reveal.

And above all, I believe in love.

Love is a language we all understand. It is what allows us to feel safe enough to be ourselves, And perhaps, in the sacred threshold of birth, safe enough to birth ourselves anew.

My role is not to tell you how to birth.

It is to help you remember that you already carry so much wisdom within you.

I am here to witness you, reflect your strength back to you, hold steady when things feel intense, and remind you—again and again—that you do not have to do this alone.

A Prayer for the Threshold

I was raised Catholic, and spent more than 20 years as an unconventional practicing Christian. Over time, my understanding of faith has expanded and deepened. Today, Love is my sacred devotion, and that God is far greater than any one religion, tradition, or definition.

As your doula, I will hold a prayer in my heart for you as you cross the threshold into motherhood. Whatever you believe—or don't believe—you are welcome here. My role is to honor your path, your faith, your questions, and your own way of making meaning of this sacred transition.

  • "Heidi was so helpful throughout our experience together! She helped me and my partner to prepare for the birth of our baby with effective techniques for before, during and after birth. She guided us in both physical exercises as well as emotional and spiritual practices to help us connect and stay tuned to the experience. Heidi was available for any questions I had and shared so much information and recommendations that were truly helpful. I would recommend her services to any mom-to-be that's looking for an additional support in their birthing journey."

  • "From the moment I met Heidi, I felt supported and at peace. She guided me through my third trimester and the delivery of my now 8-month-old baby with so much care, reassurance, and empowerment. She was always available whenever I needed her, and we bonded instantly. Not only was she an incredible doula, but she also beautifully captured our birth through her photography — memories we will cherish forever. She will always hold a special place in our hearts. Thank you, Heidi "
